A tradition in Tuscany,in many other places in Italy and not only:
growing a climbing vine on the doorstep of your home, as a sign of good luck .
But why the vine? According to Christian tradition, this plant represents both devotion and protection from all evil. Furthermore, the vineyard served to create real shaded areas in the courtyards. In addition to providing excellent grapes to be picked by simply stretching out an arm.

The door of the house in fact represents a sort of extension of the home.
When we moved to this house we found vines planted at every door.
The vine is a plant with profound meanings. Wine is made from it, and the wine in many cultures has its own symbolic meaning since ancient times.
Let’s think for example of the Latins, who proclaimed “In vino veritas”, that is to say “in wine there is truth”.
For Greco-Roman culture, wine was considered the nectar of the gods and consequently the grapes and vine from which it originates were also considered the very essence of life and immortality.
Even in Christianity the vine is a rather important symbol and becomes a symbol of well-being, fertility and blessing.
A good winemaker knows how to prune dry shoots at the right time and then enjoy the fruits of his work.
The vine represents abundant life and the joy that comes from it. It reflects the desire for fertility and beauty.
It is also a sign of devotion to the fruits of the spirit and protection from evil.
Fullness, wisdom, youth, maturation, prosperity, are all images associated with the vine.
