In Italy it is possible to drink alcohol from the age of 16, to buy it from the age of 18. And then there are people who do not want to drink alcohol for an aperitif with friends and a small red bottle, now iconic, was the first solution for a non-alcoholic aperitif.

I’m talking about Sanbittèr.

Sanbittèr ,born in 1961, Bitter Sanpellegrino was the first Italian non-alcoholic aperitif. Renamed Sanbittèr in 1985, it quickly became the undisputed protagonist of the aperitif and entered the consumption habits of Italians.

I honestly thought it was a solution that I liked when I was young to drink something non-alcoholic, but then I discovered that it was really something that many people liked. It has a particular flavor that may not please everyone but it can also be the basis for cocktails, including alcoholic ones.

Sanbittèr has always been the undisputed protagonist of the aperitif in bars. Today Sanbittèr represents the emblem of the authentic quality Italian aperitif, a true cult drink that has conquered entire generations.

An icon of those who love living a cheerful, modern and lively lifestyle but at the same time original and distinctive: based on citrus extracts, spices and herbs, with its unmistakable color and unique flavour, the Sanbittèr aperitif is ideal to be enjoyed both at home and at the bar. An excellent non-alcoholic aperitif at any time of the day, before lunch or before dinner, immediately after work, with colleagues or friends to accompany all occasions .

It can be served alone, with a little ice and a slice of orange.

It can be used for simple cocktails

Sanbittèr , the symbol par excellence of the Made in Italy aperitif:its unmistakable, sparkling and slightly bitter taste makes it the ideal ingredient as a base for signature cocktails, mixed with spices, aromas or seasonal fruit.

Sanset: the slightly alcoholic cocktail made with Sanbittèr Rosso, white Vermouth and soda.

Wrong aperitif: cocktail made with 1 part prosecco, 1 part Vermouth, 1 part Sanbittèr Rosso, 1 Orange and Ice Preparation

• Fill the glass with cubed ice;

• Pour the three drinks as per the prescribed doses;

• Mix well;

• Decorate with a slice of orange.

Nowadays the manufacturer also offers other variants with other flavors and colours, but

this little red bottle without a label, with the name printed on the glass, always represents an item known by all, very recognisable. A true icon to try.
