Italian Breakfast:Chopped Oat flakes Cookies

Biscotti  con Fiocchi di Avena Tritati

When your daughter wants to try breakfast with chopped oat flakes and then just taste them. What to do? Chopped oat flakes cookies

Ingredients for ca. 40 biscuits

• 450 g = 2 cups of  00 flour/all purpose/plain flour

• 65 g =  ¼ cup .buckwheat

• 160 g= 3/4 cup butter

• 2 eggs

• 110 g= 1 /2 cup chopped oat flakes

• 120 gr  = ½  cup brown sugar + 1/4 for topping

• 80 g =1/3 cup sugar

• 80 ml= 1/2cup of milk

• 1 tbsp baking powder

 Whip the butter with the caster sugar until you get a foamy mixture. Then add the brown sugar and mix it with the butter cream.
Proceed to add the egg, milk, oat flakes, buckwheat and flour mixed with the baking powder.

You can complete the mixing by hands.
Spread the dough on a baking tray lined with baking paper,to a thickness of 7 mm and cut the biscuits with a form or pastry cutter wheel.

Finally dust them with brown sugar and bake at 180° for 20 minutes.

They’re great ! Perfect with a Cappuccino .Thanks to my daughter who did not finish the oat flakes for her breakfast .
