
Salame di cioccolato senza uova
Chocolate salami is the dessert of our childhood, the one that mothers prepare in many Italian families. The recipe we propose is without eggs . An easy dessert, without cooking, which is made in a few minutes: unsweetened cocoa powder, butter, sugar, milk and of course cookies/biscuits! Many times suggested to finish those last dry biscuits that begin to be too soft.
Perfect for children’s snack or as a dessert served with whipped cream, gelato or custard.
INGREDIENTS Quantity for 5 people
200 gr of dry biscuits/ 20 biscuits( 7 oz) ( saiwa gold)Marie biscuits/cookies(digestive or similar or GF ones)
100 gr (3.5 oz) of unsalted butter
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons milk at room temperature
2 tablespoons icing sugar/confectioner’s sugar
You can add chopped hazelnuts,almonds,pistachios or chocolate chips in the dough.In short,you have free choice to create delicious variations.
Procedure
Coarsely chop the Cookies/ biscuits. Be careful not to reduce the biscuits to mush, good that a few pieces are larger so as to find it in the slice and at the bite.
Soften the butter in a bain-marie or in the microwave (do not melt it)
Mix it with sugar and cocoa.
Add the cookies/biscuits, stir with a spoon and at the same time add the 2 tablespoons of milk.
In a few seconds the dough of your chocolate salami without eggs, will congeal into moist but rather compact mixture
Pour the mixture on a sheet of baking paper and with your hands and the paper give it the shape of a salami
Place the cake in the lower part of the fridge (the coldest one) for at least 2-3 hours so that it solidifies.
When it is hard to the touch it is ready, turn it in icing sugar
Make sure that it is well seasoned, rolling it several times, helping you with baking paper.
Use a kitchen thread to give even more the idea of a salami
The chocolate salami without eggs is ready.
Close in its baking paper and refrigerate until ready to serve or slice to a thickness of about 1 cm – 1.5 cm ( more or less half an inch) and serve:
It keeps perfectly 3-4 days in the fridge tightly closed in its baking paper.
Perfect served with whipped cream, gelato or custard.
