The cake of colazione (breakfast )and merenda( snack )par excellence, an apple dessert that smells of home that we could never give up. The apple cake is so soft and rich in taste. We offer a traditional version but there are many other apple cake recipes.
If you are fond of spicy taste, in the recipe you can replace the powdered sugar with a sprinkling of cinnamon. And for a truly irresistible touch, pair this apple cake with whipped cream, custard or ice cream. You can store this cake for one or two days under a glass jar or cover it with a film.Ingredients and recipe :
75g butter, softened 100 g white sugar 1 egg
200 g. flour 500g Golden Delicious apples
½ glass milk 1 grated lemon zest 16 gr. baking powder
Preheat oven to 175 C°s. Grease a 22-centimetre round cake tin.
Beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg.
Sieve flour,milk and lemon zest into mixture ,and fold in thoroughly.
Peel, core apples, then slice them in six.
Spread the mixture in the bottom of the cake tin.
Arrange the apples in a wheel pattern over the top.
Sprinkle a little sugar over the apples.
Place in the centre of the oven and bake for 45 minutes.
