Red /purple Cabbage Cream

A purple heart done with red/purple cabbage cream. Isn’t it cute to see ?, it is also good .

It was a surprise for us and it’s is going to be for you. Red/purple cabbage is served many times raw or cooked but this  recipe  offers many possibilities and it is so simple. Red cabbage cream is a light dish, quick and easy to prepare, a winter first course prepared with red or purple cabbage, rich in beneficial properties for our body.

Ingredients

• 1/4 Red cabbage

• 1/2 Onion

• salt to taste

• black Pepper to taste

• Extra virgin olive oil to taste

Preparation

  1. Carefully wash the red cabbage and cut it finely.
  2. Peel and slice the onion
  3. Lightly brown the onion in a large saucepan
  4. Add the red cabbage and quickly sauté for a couple of minutes
  5. Pour a glass of boiling water, mix, add salt
  6. Cook for about 10 minutes
  7. Pour everything into the immersion mix glass and blend, obtaining a smooth and velvety cream of the consistency you prefer
  8. Finish as desired with freshly ground pepper and a few leaves of fresh thyme
  9. Serve it as a cream on crostini, next to a meat or fish or a sauce for pasta.

Red/purple cabbage is rich in vitamin C and is therefore an aid in colder periods to counteract seasonal ailments and prevent them. It contains many antioxidants and therefore fights free radicals, responsible for premature aging of cells. It is good for the heart and bones , it is low in calories.
